I am a collector of many things. I love being surrounded by objects that bring me joy and inspiration. I curate the space around my bench in my studio, I curate shelves and trays of treasure at home. I want to share some of these things with you, to share a little of what makes me tick, an insight into things I love as these influence, inform and are reflected in my work.
First up, spoons! I love the shape of them, the look of them, how they feel when held. In a display case that belonged to my Grandma, I have a little collection. It's not a collection I am actively trying to grow, more that when one catches my eye it might become a new addition. They can be anything from free and disposable to handmade and exquisite. They can't be too ornate. My collection started when I visited Japan back in 2009, I came back with a few spoons, ceramic and wood...(please scroll down for the video!).
