Emily combines mixed materials with precious metals to create wearable works of art. Vivid colours, exquisite details and a graphic, architectural sensibility come together in a series of five one-of-a-kind brooches.
Each brooch has a rectangular starting point, plant silhouettes are traced and layered in card. Shapes are simplified and refined. Moving from maquettes to the making brings further change as Emily responds to the materials, colours and techniques until the compositions come together.
Subtle textures, hand carved wood, inlaid dots and glimmers of gold are framed in small works of art.
