Made Brighton was last weekend and it was a lovely show. There was a buzzing atmosphere in the beautiful Corn Exchange and a great mix of exhibitors and visitors. It was extra special for me because I studied, lived and worked in Brighton so I saw old friends, tutors and colleagues that I haven’t seen for years. My highlight was being awarded the madebyhandonline.com 'Best in Show' award, I was absolutely thrilled. I had a lot of help over the weekend so I would like to thank Chris who drove me, my work and stand down to Brighton on the Thursday and then helped me set up. Also a very big thank you to Jen and Neil for putting me up all weekend, cooking me lovely food and then driving me and my stuff back to London on Sunday evening! Next year I have to have some refresher driving lessons (I haven’t driven for 8 years!) so I can get on the road myself (gulp).
I was on stand 3, surrounded by lovely makers, in particular Fay Jenkinson, Drew Markou, Kaz Robertson and Rose Sharp Jones. Over the course of a show you have all sorts of conversations with fellow exhibitors which is one of the best parts of exhibiting!
